Developmental Assets

Children must be seen within the context of their family
and within the context of the community.

Building Resilience with Developmental Assets

In the coming years, the focus for OKN will be on building resilience in communities and increasing capacity in all sectors. Developmental Assets is the framework we will use to reach our seven key population results (Halton 7).

Our Kids Network partners are already mobilizing with our community partners to put a Halton-wide Developmental Assets strategy in place. Through training and education, we want to further understanding of Developmental Assets and develop common goals and language. The plan is to equip those working with children, youth and their families to take action based on what they’ve learned and empower families to better support their children.
